Cabo Verdean Celebration 2024

August 2024 - the Boston Red Sox and the Cabo Verdean Community of New England celebrated Cabo Verdean heritage and culture at Fenway Park! Over 3000 Cabo Verdean community members and friends joined us on this inaugural day. 
The 2024 Cabo Verdean jersey features a few key staples that embody the history of the Cabo Verdean culture. On one sleeve, the 10 yellow stars around the Red Sox logo represent 10 beautiful islands that make up the country of Cabo Verde. On the other sleeve, sits Cabo Verde’s national emblem.  The volcano depicted on the back of the jersey symbolizes the volcanic origins of the Cabo Verde islands.
